Fake American Express Calls
I got a message from American Express on my home phone the other day saying that I should call this number:
8883172720 or (888) 317-2720 or 1-888-317-2720
This is a scam and phishing expedition. Only call the telephone number on the back of your credit card.

I can sympathise.
Of late, I've received suspicious-sounding "robo-dialer" calls from some entity claiming to be "Accountholder Services" or "Cardmember Services" (no bank specifically named), usually in a female-sounding voice, claiming I am "eligible for a special APR reduction" in exchange for my timeliness of payments.
The which I promptly hang up on, as such are probably scams.

Call AMEX first to verify the number. Use the number on the back of your card to verify it. I called and it was legit.
yeah, that number is legit. i called the number on the back of the card and asked them about 888-317-2720. it's ok.
