Graduating NKU Chase law student Michael Alao was awarded the Northern Kentucky Bar Foundation NAACP Diversity Scholarship on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the 12th annual Northern Kentucky Branch NAACP Lawyers Luncheon. Each year, the organization awards a bar exam study scholarship to one student from Chase, and one student from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.  The organization also supports diversity initiatives by providing an opportunity for students to interact with professionals in the legal community through internships, mentorship, and scholarship. Justice Michelle M. Keller ’90 was the keynote speaker at this year’s luncheon.

Michael enrolled at Chase after graduating from Xavier University with an MBA in 2011. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Ohio and Virginia, and holds the Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner designations. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1999, Michael worked in both the public and private sectors. During his career, he completed audit assignments in various locations throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. Michael served as the chief internal audit executive for the Cincinnati Public School District from 2009 through 2012. He is fluent in German.
Congratulations, Michael.
